For 100 years, the League has been a nonpartisan voice raised to call out the importance of voting access and voter education and to advocate for inclusion, transparency and accountability. Our Centennial Celebration will be our primary 2024 fundraiser as we call on friends and supporters both to celebrate and recommit to our mission of making democracy work.
The 2024 Making Democracy Work Award will be presented to The Oaklandside. Tasneem Raja, Editor-in-Chief will be accepting the award on their behalf at the event.

Q: What is your Refund Policy?
A: While we cannot offer a refund, tickets can be transferred/given to someone else to attend.
Q: What are the parking options for the event?
A: We encourage attendees to carpool to the event. While parking at the Camron-Stanford House is not available, there are several parking options:

The LWVO has arranged for free parking at a nearby parking lot: Douglas Parking 1309 Madison, Oakland

The Lake Chalet restaurant next door offers valet parking

Q: Is the event inside the Camron-Stanford House?
A: No, our event is entirely outside in the beautiful garden and veranda overlooking Lake Merritt. Please enter on the north side of the house facing the Lake Chalet restaurant.
Q: Is there a recommendation for attire?
A: Since we will be outside in the evening, we suggest attendees plan for possible cool weather. Also, attendees will be walking on the lawn, so be sure to wear suitable shoes.
Q: Is the location wheelchair accessible?
A: Yes, the program and main activities of the celebration will be in the back garden of the Camron-Stanford House which is wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately, the veranda where the LWVO History Project will be displayed is not wheelchair accessible. Please contact us if you have questions about accessibility.
Q: Can I bring children to the event?
A: Teens interested in learning about the League and supporting our work are welcome, but this event is not suitable for young children. Please note, all attendees need a ticket to attend.
Q: What food and beverages will be served at the event?
A: A delicious array of savory and sweet finger foods will be served. We’ll offer wine and an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages.
