In keeping with the annual celebration of Women’s History Month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society the League of Women Voters Oakland hosts Mayor Sheng Thao and distinguished local leaders Barbara Leslie (Executive Director, Oakland Chamber of Commerce), Christina Livingston (Executive Director of Alliance of Californians for Community -Empowerment - ACCE and ACCE Institute) and Dyana Marie Delfin Polk (President, Board of Trustees, Peralta Community College District) discussing the most urgent needs of Oakland communities—geographic and demographic. We’ll also reflect on lived experiences with gender-related stereotypes and expectations. How do we best hold ourselves accountable for directing the resources in each of these key sectors to build a stronger, more vibrant Oakland?
